For each promise we track, you will find:

Source & Date: Where and when the promise was made.
Current Status: A straightforward indicator:

• Kept: The promise has been fulfilled with verifiable action.
• In Progress: Significant steps are being taken towards fulfillment.
• Not Started: No visible action or implementation has begun yet.
• Broken: No substantial action has been observed or the promise has been abandoned.

Detailed Analysis: An in-depth article outlining the actions (or non-actions) taken by the politician or government, along with the context and any significant developments.

Evidence Links: Direct links to official documents, credible news reports, legislative records, and other verifiable sources that support our assessment.

Promise Evaluation Principles

Many political promises contain multiple components or intended outcomes. At You Betcha!, we uphold a strict standard for accountability: if a promise consists of multiple parts, it will only be considered 'Kept' if every single part of that promise has been fulfilled. If even one component remains unaddressed, the entire promise will be designated as 'Broken' or 'In Progress' or 'Not Started' depending on the overall status of its various elements. This ensures comprehensive accountability for all commitments made.
